Referral commission calculated on money you actually collected
Referral commission is where labs most often pay out money they never took in. If commission is calculated on billed value, an unpaid bill still creates a liability.
Referral commission software tracks which doctors, hospitals or agents send work to a laboratory and what each has earned. Commission accrues against payments the lab has actually collected, so a partly paid or refunded bill adjusts the commission automatically.
Accrual follows the payment
Commission is calculated on what has been collected, not on what was billed. A bill paid half now and half next week accrues commission in two parts. A refund rebases what was already accrued. Nothing is owed on money that never arrived.
